The Chromecast is by far the most underrated technological device out there. Google quietly introduced it at their most event in which it was overshadowed by the highly anticipated Nexus 7. In short, theChromecast is a $35 streaming dongle that plugs into your TV’s HDMI port. You can use it to stream online videos from YouTube, Netflix and elsewhere, and use your computer, mobile phone or tablet as a remote control. It doesn’t have any kind of separate app store or user interface on your TV – everything gets controlled from the PC or mobile device.
The key word here is control: Your phone doesn’t stream videos directly to your Chromecast dongle. Instead, it just tells the device which video it should stream from the cloud. That means that you can use your phone for something else, or even turn it off, once the stream starts.
Although, with a new and up and coming app called CheapCast, it allows you to stream content from one android device to another. Such as, a Nexus 4 to a Nexus 10 for example. This app is great and not know very well. In addition, it is free and has a great user interface.
How To Get CheapCast:
1. Download Cheapcast here
2. Open CheapCast
3. Change the device name (optional)
4. Tap the play button
5. Tap the play button on the other device that you are streaming to
